This will be a series where I do a post on each team with where the jersey inspiration came from, what they did, what they could have done better, and how it fits eventually with the full set of pants, socks, helmet, gloves, etc… Colorado Avalanche (1979): A true mashup of old and new, this design features the Quebec Nordiques igloo logo with fleur-de-lis in Avalanche maroon. Per NHL.com: The Colorado Avalanche will celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary season in Denver during the upcoming 2020-21 National Hockey League campaign. The 25th anniversary celebration will recognize the rich history of the Avalanche franchise and look forward to the bright future of the club by paying tribute to its Quebec Nordiques roots, celebrating two-and-a-half decades of community involvement, thanking the Avalanche’s faithful fans, remembering players of both past and present, championing the growth of hockey in the region and looking toward the next 25 seasons. Ryan O’Reilly (born February 7, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre and alternate captain for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the Colorado Avalanche and Buffalo Sabres. Anaheim Ducks – Jersey porn right here! Los Angeles Kings – Colors are so gorgeous. Well done. Buffalo Sabres – Colors are on point. If they did the goat head as the main logo, it would be a top 10 jersey of all time IMO. Get rid of “Buffalo” and the gray stripe on the bottom too. NHL Network drops their top 20 centers list. Lets fix this…
Nathan MacKinnon – Top dog for me because he proved he can do it with literally anyone on his line. He was missing Rantanen for a large chunk of the season and played serious time with guys like Donskoi, Calvert, and Burakovsky on his line. No surprise these guys all had career years, at least on pace for. Thanks Covid. Connor McDavid – Easily the most valuable player on his team still and it isn’t even close IMO.
